Bad, Bad, Bad...

I have not stitch any and December will be coming to an end soon.  Lisa has been after me for a couple of weeks to get my act together.  This was my idea and I am way behind.  Lisa is doing a great job and has finished her project and should be posting pictures soon.  I will keep you posted if a miracle happens and my project is done by Jan. 1.  LOL

Well drat...I forgot to post a picture of a Christmas gift...

I made this for my good friend Jody....it was supposed to be a birthday gift a few years ago and I never got it "finished" so I got it done up this year and mailed it as a surprise Christmas gift!

I hope Jody enjoys this needle tin for many years to come!

Wonderful holiday!!

We had a great holiday weekend. My sons were both home from college and we ate a great dinner at mom and dad's Christmas Eve.  Shame on both my hubby and me as neither one of us even got dressed on Christmas day....weather was rainy and we just sat around in our pjs all day! It was so nice to be that lazy for a day!

I did however stitch away on my December project......

I had kinda planned to work on it some more yesterday but instead I cleaned my flower frogs and my scissors.  I took a pic of scissors but dang it I cannot get it to upload to computer for some reason so I am gonna try again tonite and seee if I can fix problem.  In the mean time here is a pic of MOST, but not ALL of my fobs....

I have others that are kitted up with stuff or that are on the ends of zippers for my project bags, I use them there a lot as decoration and to help open the bags!

Next we have a picture of all of my UFOs piled in my stitching chair....

I know, I know...shame on me! It just seems to happen to the best of us from time to time! I do plan to share a picture of each UFO from time to time but I am afraid we will all get overwhelmed if I posted them all in one post! LOL So...for now it's just the one that I will be working on when I finish my monthly challenge project with Polly!

I started this project shortly after I got it and got a lot done on it but for some reason it got put to the wayside and has been waiting for me to get back to it! It's Proud and True. Hopefully, I can get it done by working on it each month after finishing the monthly project. I really need to finish up some UFOs!

I also decided to splurge just a bit on myself....my parents gave us money for Christmas and I used mine to buy this....

It's the Ottlite Alexander Combo and Joanns had it on sale from $279.00 for $99 and I had a $15.00 off coupon! I needed a lamp that will work with my chair and come over my shoulder so I don't lean so much toward my light which tends to cause pain in my back and neck. So this is gonna hopefully fix the problem!

I guess that's it for now. I hope I can finish up my Dec. project in the next day or two and yes I have my January one picked out. Will share that one soon!

Great to finally see Yvonne here with us and Polly....get on that Dec. project and share with us what Jan. holds!

I'm Here - Finally!!

Well, it took awhile but I'm here!!  Without boring you with all the details, I will just say I'm late because of "stuff".  Stuff always creeps up on you and it's a pain.  It never really truly leaves but I do wish it would find a nice corner and stay there for a moment or two.

I do not have any stitching progress reports at this time.  I have been working on Plum Street Sampler's Paradise Lost since January 2010.  I am about 80-85% finished but it's one of those projects that just bores me after a week or so of stitching on it.  I am left with large areas of one color that are not stitched and that may be some of the reason for me laying it to the side.  I DO want to finish it and I am hoping that I will be able to get back at it over the Christmas holidays.  December/January/February are usually my busiest stitching months.  I think it has to do with the new year and starting fresh......which means, I NEED a new project to start........

I have been thinking about what I want to stitch next and I'm at a blank.  I have seriously considered stitching the original Black Bird Designs Mystery Sampler from a few years back and it is kitted up and ready to go.  I do have a start on the Brenda Gervais Mystery Sampler from this past summer and I have also thought about starting Black Bird Designs current Mystery Sampler (patterns 1 and 2 of 3 have been released so far).  So, hopefully, during Christmas, I can come up with a new project for the new year.

I do want to share a little papercraft I put together yesterday.  It is my Santa Treat Boxes and they were cut using my Silhouette.  I will place these on the table at each place setting on Christmas Day.  They are small but they each held 13 Hershey Kisses - not too bad!!  I think they are cute and who doesn't like Ho Ho!

Merry Christmas!!

Progress...

Lisa is after me to post my progress on my December project, which is coming along slow considering I just started.  Here is what I have so far.

This is not a good picture.  I am not sure I am happy with this fabric.  It is the fabric the pattern suggests.  Maybe when I get farther along it will look better.

Now for the big question.  Where is our friend YVONNE??????????

Progress and some gifts!

Well yesterday was a marathon finishing day for me. Got 5 stitched gifts finished up! Now to get them to their respective homes for the holidays!

First off here are 3 Quaker Snowman ornies - they are stitched over one! Two pics so you can see the size against the quarter!

Sure hope the recipients like them! Now I just have to find time to make myself one!

Next we have a picture of my December project before I worked on it last night. I got a good bit done when I worked on it last night but didn't get a new picture.

I hope to get to work on this one a good bit this week and finish it up since Christmas weekend and New Years weekend will be super busy around the house with lots of company and such!

So glad to have a 4 day work week this week and then it's off for 4 days! Maybe I can get lots done around the house...yeah right!

Huggers all and if I don't post before next weekend I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!
Lisa

I have got everything I just need to get my butt in gear. I will keep you posted.

Progess on my December Challenge.....

First off here is a pic of my planned project .....

It's Woodland Sampling by Little House Needlework! I just love it and I am thinking it would make a nice cube whenever I get the time to work on finishing stuff!

Here is the progress pic....

Pretty good I think for working on it just a bit yesterday afternoon.  Hubby went hunting with a friend that is visiting from FL so I figured it was now or never and got all my goodies ready to get to work! Believe it or not I was even thinking about what will be my January project!

I do plan one night this week or maybe next weekend to get all my UFOs out and take a pic to post those as well just so maybe I can shame myself into working on them too! LOL

Poor Polly - she initiates the challenge and then site sees instead of stitching....whatever will we do with that gal!

Yvonne, hope to see ya posting soon!!

Huggers all,
Lisa

No stitching for me...

I was a bad girl this weekend.  I did not do any stitching but my friend Lisa is hard at it.  Instead I did some site seeing.  We went to the Middleburg Christmas Parade on Saturday and to the Capital Botanical Gardens and Mt. Vernon on Sunday.  We had a good time and it put me in holiday mood.

Middleburg Christmas actually has two parades the first and what they are known for is the Hunt Parade.

Here come the hounds.  As you can see by the picture people do come out to watch.

The second is the Christmas Parade.

They have bagpipes and Santa but I think this parade goes to the dogs.

Ok lets move on to the Botanicals Gardens and Mt. Vernon.  The displays at the gardens are just gorgous everything made from natural materials.

And last but not least how would you like for this to be your house.

and this the view from that porch.

Needless to say this is the house and view that our First President George Washington had many years ago.  This is his family house at Mt. Vernon that overlooks the Potomac River.

Ok maybe this week I will get some stitching done.

Challenge

Well Lisa wrote the other day that I challenged her to cross stitch one item a month.  Something small not more the 6x6 in size.  We are in a slump and I was trying to come up with a way for us to get back in the game.  Lisa has always been in the game and I have always been trying to bring up the rear.

Lisa is my hero when it comes to cross stitch and Yvonne is my hero when it comes to papercrafting she makes the most beautiful cards.  If you have had the honor to receive one of these cards you know what I mean.

Well since I am the one who came up with this challenge I thought it only right that I post a picture of my project for this month.

This is Country Stitches December Word Play.  I think Brenda does really cute designs.  You can see her designs at http://www.countrystitchesonline.com./

I will keep you posted on my progress.  Polly

Yvonne Where Are You.....

Yvonne has been busy at work.  The accountant is there going over the books.  I don't envey her.  Not to worry, I know Yvonne has everything in order down to the last number.  She will check in as soon as she can.

Thanks to Polly!

Thanks so much to Polly for getting our blog started for us! I have had my own blog before but it honestly just seems that I don't have the time to keep it updated often enough and this idea of a shared blog to show off our projects etc really appealed to me!

I hope to get a pic posted tomorrow of my project that I should be starting this weekend since Polly has challenged me to do a small project each month over the next year....her attempt to get both of us out of our stitching slumps! We shall see!

Going Live Dec. 1

This is our joint blog.  We decided that with the three of us we could keep a blog going since we all lead busy lives.  Lisa and Yvonne live in Georgia and I live outside of Washington, DC.  We met years ago at a Pals Convention in Myrtle Beach, SC and became close friends.  You will get to know us better in the months to come.  We hope this inspires us to start, and yes even finish, more projects.  We are looking forward to sharing our accomplishments and things that happen in our lives along the way.
