I'm getting there...

Got my gifties for the gals weekend finished last Sunday and Monday. So now I am back to working on my over one version of LHN Singing the Blues.  I had started doing the white border and did not like it so I decided to do the letters and then decide if I want to add the border or not. Here is the progress pic...

I think I have decided to finish the over one version as a pinkeep and do the over two version as a cube so that I can display them together and folks can see the difference. It is amazing, in my opinion!

On another note, our local Hospital Auxilary and jewelry store had it's Carrot Cupake fundraiser last night.  We bought 5 cupcakes and were lucky enough to get gemstones in 2! Now to decide what to do with mine.   Just gonna have to think on it I suppose!

Getting so excited about the gals weekend coming soon! Can't wait to see some of my besties!!!

Update

I have been working on gifts for our girls weekend coming up but I will have to show you that at a later date.  I did start on a new project.  It is Little House Needleworks Poinsettia House.  I have decided to do this one over one and I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew.

After are girls weekend I will post the pics of the gifts I am working on for the girls.  I am kinda proud of myself.  I think I have done a pretty good job.  I just hope they like them.

Progress....

I had to take a break from working on my over one bluebird but now that my gifts are done for the girls weekend coming up soon I could get back to it! This is my progress as of right now. I am hoping to get this one done this week so maybe I can get the finishing done and show it off to my stitching friends!

That's all I can share right now but soon I can show off my gifties - just under two weeks to go now until a fun filled gals weekend!

Well...I wanted to post something but I can't show off my...

wcurrent project as it's my surprise gifty for the girls weekend coming up soon! I just can't wait!!

So proud of Polly for finishing her December piece and I have it on good authority that she has started her January Challenge piece too! Good for her! She is cheating though cause she is calling her gifties her Feb piece! Goodness...what will we do with her!?

Since I can't share a pic of my current project I decided to share another UFO pic...

As you can see I got a great start on this one and then for some reason I just quit working on it! I dearly love this one and maybe I can get it finished up and on display this year for Christmas. We didn't put up a tree this year but this one would look so good displayed on top of our entertainment center with candles all around.  We shall see....

And I suppose since I am posting that one I need to post one other Christmas one that is a UFO...

I started this one a LONG time ago and I got a good ways on it and then I would just pull it out when the mood strikes and it has been quite some time since the mood struck! LOL

I think that's it for my Christmas themed UFOs.  Maybe I need to start a rotation or something to get them done!

Thanks for looking!

Lisa has finished some of her gifties and I told her so let me see how she did and she told me NO.  LOL.

Does it count.....

Technically I think I can say I finished my January Challenge piece! I got the over 2 one done and that was my planned project until I decided to make it into a 2 sided pillow with the second side being done over 1.  Well anyway here is the finished side and a little progress....

I got some fuzzy yarn this weekend that I am planning to use in the finishing, hope it works like I want. Not sure how much I can get done on side two as I have some gifties I want to make for the girls weekend coming up soon!

Thanks for stopping by and huggers,
Lisa

Finally....

Some progress on my piece for December.  I don't know why, but I am just not into this project.  It is not what I had hoped it would be.  Nevertheless I have made progress.

I hope to work on it some more tonight while watching the BCS Championsip Bowl.  We shall see.  Guess I also need to be thinking about this months project.  I have something in mind but don't know if I will be able to share.  Us girls are getting together the first weekend in February at Cathy's and I may make some little gifts that I will share with you later.  Hugs.

Finally...I am not really as scatterbrained as I appear, I promise!

Here us my finished December Challenge piece - Woodland Sampling by Little House Needleworks -

I haven't decided how I want to finish this one but it may end up being a cube...just not sure so for now it will go into my tote with all my finished but "unfinished" items! LOL

Next we have my progress on my January challenge project.  It's Singing the Blues by Little House Needleworks.... as I said before, I am going to do this over 2 and then over 1 and make a two sided pillow out of it that shows the differences. Big plans!

I did stitch a bit last night but not as much as I hoped, just wanted to settle in and watch some football with hubby...then actually gave up and went to bed!

This year is starting out pretty good, I got all my stitching projects organized as hoped, still a little to do but I accomplished the task I really wanted to!  I was hoping to get a little done on my UFO I shared in a previous post after I completed my December challenge piece but alas January arrived too soon and I had to start the January piece!

Can't wait for February as Yvonne, Polly and I are getting together with another good stitching friend Cathy and hopefully Jody too and we are gonna spend a fun filled time, stitching, laughing and eating!

Happy New Year! Can't believe it's 2012 already!

I am bad! I did get my December project completed last week but I didn't get my picture taken to post it today! I will get pics tonite of December project and January progress and post them.

This is my January project... Little House Needleworks - Singing the Blues -

I am stitching this on 28 count fabric over 2 as called for and then I plan to stitch it again over 1 and make it into a two sided pillow/ornament. That's the current plan anyway!

I did manage to read a couple of books last week and still stay on top of the challenge deadline! I read Alex Kava's Hotwire...can't wait for the next Maggie O'Dell book to come out! And then Stuart Woods Son of Stone...I think I am getting a tad bored with the Stone Barrington saga but I just can't help myself and I read each one anyway!

Polly promises me she has a plan and that she will get caught up on her challenge pieces!? We shall see!

Hope to see Yvonne post again soon with some progress on whatever project she has picked out to work on....hmmm...wonder if it could be a Blackbird Designs???

Huggers all,
Lisa
